Brian Scherff, Jr. graduated from
William
Howard
Taft
High School
in 2001. After his career
there as saxophonist and drum major, he continued on to
East
Texas
Baptist
University
where he majored in all levels of music education.
While attending ETBU, Mr. Scherff enjoyed a variety of performing
opportunities with the University Wind Ensemble, Marching Band,
Saxophone Quartet, Flute Choir, Woodwind Quintet, Chapel Choir, Concert
Choir, and University Singers. Off
campus, Mr. Scherff was a regular performer and occasional soloist with
the East Texas Symphonic Band, performed with the Marshall Symphony
Orchestra and sang with the Moscow Chamber Orchestra while touring
Moscow
and
St. Petersburg
Russia
with the ETBU Concert Choir. After
graduation, Mr. Scherff was hired as the Head Orchestra and Assistant
Band Director of
Weslaco
East
High School
. When Taft opened a
position, it was time to come home and work with the band that started
the passion for music in his life.
