Week 12 of School -- 11/11/19-11/15/19 -- Trumpet Masterclasses, Percussion Class Auditions, Musical Students Sitzprobe Rehearsal, & Region Jazz Clinic/Concert

Congrats to our percussion program led by Mr. Rick Astorga who participated in the Brandeis Percussion Contest. They placed second in their division and were awarded the caption award of best bass line! Bravo ladies and gentleman- we are proud of you!

With the conclusion of our last football game and senior night- we draw the 2019 marching season to a close with our annual Italian Dinner. Thank you in advance to all volunteers who are helping to make Tuesday’s special performance and fundraiser possible- especially Mark and Kim Contreras. We are still in need of volunteers to make this event possible- please see our website at https://www.taftraiderband.org/volunteer/volunteer-shifts to find out how you can get involved this week.

We would also thank each and every one of our band family members who currently or have served in the Military. With Veteran’s Day coming on Monday, it is important to take the time to reflect on the sacrifices that have been made which allow us to enjoy an activity such as band. We will celebrate this as a program with a performance of our Armed Forces musical tribute on Tuesday evening’s Italian dinner which we hope you can join us for.

We also have concessions that continue throughout the year in addition to numerous volunteer opportunities. Marching season may be over- but we are still in need of help to continue the students’ progress as we continue in the school year.
