Week 8 of School -- 10/14/19-10/19/19 -- Columbus Day Rehearsal, PSAT/SAT, Concert Folder Orders Due, Friday Football Game, UIL Marching Contest

Congrats on a great 2nd contest. We were awarded 2nd in music and 2nd in percussion in prelims performance, and placed 4th in finals competition (as compared to placing 7th in finals at this same contest two years ago). Great job students. We move on this week to our most important competition- UIL.

Students have an odd week in front of them- no school on Monday but we will still rehearse from 4:35-7:35 due to our UIL competition this week. This rehearsal has been on the band calendar since April and has been discussed in classes. Students- make sure you have transportation to and from rehearsal and are on time/early. The band hall will open at 3 PM on this day. Additionally, we will be having an extra band parent meeting this Monday at 6:45 PM. Typically we only have one meeting per month, but in this case, there are a few matters that require immediate voting on. Due to booster bylaws, we must have a minimum number of members present, so if you are available to attend, please arrive by 6:45.

Concert folder orders are due this Wednesday to the white box or a director. Folders cost $15 and includes your name engraved on the front. Please make all checks out to Taft Raider Band Boosters.
