4th of July Parade Volunteers
Hello, and thank you for your interest in applying to be a leader in the 2025 Taft HS Band. The positions listed are all incredibly vital the the existence of our band program, and great opportunities for your commitment, enthusiasm, and love of band to shine! Those selected represent the band program, their school, and their staff at ALL times- both on and off the field. Your audition will consist of the following elements:
Complete the "Intent to Audition" form due by Monday, April 21 at 4:30 PM. No late entries will be accepted.
Turn in the audition permission form signed by yourself and a parent by Tuesday, May 6 at 5:00 PM. This will be given to you on the first day of leadership training (5/5/25).
Complete the Leadership Binder which includes the leaders contract, application essay questions, and handbook and deliver to Mr. Chapman, Mr. Soto, and Mr. Mills no later than 5:00 PM on Tuesday, May 6.
4. Submit video examples of you marching box drill on the band pad with your instrument at tempo 100, with audible metronome, due by 5PM on Tuesday, May 6.
A conference interview with the band staff, including marching demonstration and teaching demonstration.
Submission of teacher evaluations via google docs from all of your non-band teachers, completed by teachers no later than Tuesday, May 6 at 5:00 PM.
Attendance at all marching band leadership sessions on May 5-7 from 7:30-8:30 AM at Taft High School.
