Nicole Skilling, 2026-2027 President
Hi, I'm Nicole Longoria-Skilling, and I'm honored to serve as this year's Taft Raider Band Booster President! My daughter Lilly is a Junior in the band and plays the flute, and my son is also a Junior at Taft. Band runs in the family in more ways than one — both my husband and I are Taft graduates ourselves, so this community has been part of our lives for a long time.
I got my start as a band booster during Lilly's freshman year, when I took on the lead concessions role — a job I loved so much I kept it going into her sophomore year, right alongside serving as VP1. Wherever there's a need, I like to jump in and help, and over the past two years that's meant a little bit of everything. I also currently serve as Secretary on the Northside Booster Association (NBA) Board, which has given me a great look at booster leadership from another angle.
By day, I manage three ADA compliance teams in Accessibility and Compliance — a career shift from my years in mortgage accounting that came from realizing how much I love helping people. That same drive is a big part of why I wanted to take on this role: I want every single person in our booster organization to feel welcomed, heard, and confident stepping in to volunteer, wherever their interests or schedule allow.
Outside of Taft Band, you'll usually find me planning some kind of party — I love crafting, decorating, and cooking up any excuse to bring people together.
I love everything this band community stands for, and my whole family shows up for it. I can't wait to get to know all of you this year and make it a great season for our students!
