Scott Lawson, 2026-2027 1st Vice President
Scott Lawson serves as 1st Vice President of the Taft Raider Band Boosters, now in his fourth year with the organization, the first three spent as a roadie, a role he'll always carry in his heart (and he still tows "Little Red" when needed). A native of San Angelo, Texas, and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Scott holds a Bachelor of Science in Geographic Information Systems from Arizona State University and a Master's in Geospatial Information Science and Technology from NC State University. He currently works as a Geospatial Intelligence Analyst and Federal Programs Project Manager. A musician as well, Scott plays tuba and trombone, and sometimes euphonium with On Corps, the all-veteran concert and jazz band at UTSA, and tuba and percussion with the San Antonio Community Wind Ensemble (SACWE). He is also President and co-founder of the San Antonio Performing Arts Alliance (SAT-PAA), the nonprofit organization under which SACWE falls under.
Scott and his wife, Melanie, have three children, all musicians in their own right: oldest son Joshua, a Central High School (San Angelo) graduate and now a sophomore at Angelo State University, who plays guitar and was an all-state runner-up in choir; Meredith, a senior in the Taft Raider Band on clarinet; and Jackson, a 7th grader at Briscoe Middle School who plays trombone and is a future TRB member. With music running through the whole family, Scott jokes he'll be around the TRB forever! He's proud to support the students, staff, and families of the Taft Raider Band along the way.
